46 hours, Paint Tool Sai, Digital Painting
During my Mental Health clinical rotation (1 term ago), I became inspired to draw this piece.
I learned about St John's Wort, because I was intrigued of why it's contraindicated for several antidepressants.
I thought to myself, "what exactly is St John's Wort???", and looked it up.
I found that it's a small, beautiful flower that can change a person's mood tremendously.
Who would have known that such a small and pretty flower would be used to help millions of individuals in the world who suffer depression, emotional instability, and many other mental disorders.
It reminds me of how poppies, which are bright and beautiful, can also be used to make opium, which are used as analgesics.

Wow it has been a long while and you come with something pretty inspiring.
That is really a good drawing and the coloring is done well to accentuate the details on the drawing. Also very interesting to see that one flower can have so much use and also become an inspiration for a person.
